The ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase went live on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with 21 games from independent teams and publishers, according to Xbox Wire's recap of the event. The lineup mixed one clearly labeled world premiere with fresh looks at games already in development and release dates stretching from this month into late 2027. For indie developers, the show is a useful snapshot of how Xbox is currently packaging smaller games for players.

What was announced

The one reveal Xbox Wire explicitly labels as a world premiere is Love is a Roguelite (LIAR), which debuted a trailer with a Fall 2027 window for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. Other new reveals included A Game About Digging a Hole Together, shown for the first time during the broadcast with a December 4, 2026 date and Game Pass availability, and Magenta Down, from the creators of Unto The End, which received a deep-dive and an early 2027 target.

Several titles are close to launch. Arctic Eggs from CRITICAL REFLEX was available on Xbox Series X|S from the day of the show, while Scramble Knights Online arrives October 26. Mouthwashing and The Wolf Among Us Remastered both land on October 29, and DreamWorks' Shrek 2 Remastered opens pre-orders ahead of a November 10 release, according to the recap.

Later titles include Croak, slated for March 2027 with day-one Game Pass access, and Rustown from Plotrick, dated June 30, 2027. Xbox Wire lists several other games only with season-level windows, such as Drill Keeper and Chronoscript: The Endless End for summer 2027.

Key details

  • Event: ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, Tuesday, October 20, 2026, 10am PDT (per the PureXbox preview)
  • Titles: 21 games in Xbox Wire's recap, with a mix of new reveals, trailers and launch dates
  • World premiere: Love is a Roguelite (LIAR), Fall 2027
  • Earliest releases: Arctic Eggs (available now), Scramble Knights Online (October 26), Mouthwashing and The Wolf Among Us Remastered (October 29)
  • Platforms: Most listed titles target Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, with some also on Xbox One
  • Missing or unconfirmed: Xbox Wire's recap does not name developers for most indie titles, and it gives only a season or no date for several games. The PureXbox preview listed 18 titles, while the final recap listed 21.

What it means for developers

  • Game Pass is still a launch channel: Eight of the 21 titles list Game Pass in the recap. If your project fits the service, plan store pages and marketing around that option early.
  • Play Anywhere is worth a checkbox: The recap says Croak, Paper Shredder and Mr. Magpie's Harmless Card Game support Xbox Play Anywhere, which can simplify sales across console and PC.
  • Showcase slots are long marketing cycles: Many reveals are dated 2027. A showcase appearance is often the start of a long campaign, so wishlists, press kits and trailers need to keep working well after the broadcast.
  • Remasters and ports keep finding audiences: The Wolf Among Us Remastered and Mouthwashing show that established titles can get a second life on new platforms, which is a reminder to review older releases for re-release potential.
  • Clear dates help the algorithm and the press: Titles with concrete dates, like Scramble Knights Online and the October 29 pair, give players and curators a reason to act now. Vague windows are harder to sell.
